AN ORDINANCE SETTING SPECIF~ED COUNTY RECORDER FSES
The Baard of Superv.i~ars o~ the County of Butte ordains as
foll.ows :
Sec~ion 1. •
Findings: The Board of Supervisors makes the following findings:
A. Government Code Section 54985 autho~izes a county to
increase statu~ory and other fe~s as necessary ta recover the costs of
providing any product or service.
B. The Board of Sup~rvisors pre~riously app~oved the conduct af a
fee study to determine GQSt5 of th~ Butte County Recorder Of~ice
providing specified products and services, and said study has been
completed.
C. A public hea~ing has been duly noticed and held on August 28,
1330 pu~suant to th~ requirements of Gove~z~ment Code Sect~on 549$6 ta
cor~sider said study and to receiv~ orai or wr~tten presentations
pertaining the~eto.
Section 2: The fees spea~fied below a~e hereby determined
necessary ~o recover the costs of p~oviding the respective p~oducts or
services ~ar which they re~.ate and a~e h~reby established and adopt~d
as the applicable fee therefore:
{a) Notary public $9.00 Clerk's fee plus
regula~ reco~ding fees
(b) Marriage license (county portion only) $29.00
(c) Confidential ma~~iage certificate $32.00

Section 3: S~ve~ability.
~f any part of thi~ Ord~nance shall be held void by a court af
competent ju~isdiction, such part sha~~ be deemed severable, and the
invalidity thereof shal~ not affect ~he rema ining parts af this
ord~nance.
Section 4.
This Ordinance shall be and it is hareby d eclared ~o be in ~u1i
~orce and effect from and after thirty {30) days after the date of its
passage, and beEore the expiration of fiftee n (15) days aft~r its
passag~, this Drdinance shall be published once w ith the names af the
me~b~rs of the Board a~ Supervisors voting for and agai~st it in the
Chico Ent~~prise-Record, a newspaper published in the County of Butte,
State of Cali~arnia.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Bnard of Supervisor~ of the County of
Butte, State of Califo~nia, an the 2$th day of August, ~990, by the
fo~lowing vote:
