AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN ROADS
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
does ordain as follows:.
Section 1: Said I36axd finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter .described
come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State
of California, in that a speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles per hour is more
than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines and declares a
prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows:
That a prima faca.e speed limit of thirty=five {35) miles per hour is
hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES signs
Ibe placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County highways

1. HEGAN LANE FROM MIDWAY TO 0.2 MILE WEST 0~' BRUCE LANE
2. DECATUR DRIVE FROM SKYWAY TO CRESTON ROAD
That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour is
hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES signs
be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County highways
to wit
1. SADDLE DRIVE FROM STATE HIGHWAY 162 TO END
2. ALL OF LARIAT LOOP
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewitf
~~ are hereby repealed.
Section 3; 'The several features, parts, provisions, sections and
terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable and the
invalidity, if any, of any feature, .part, provision, section or term thereof,
shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same

inoperative or invalid.
Section 4: .The. Department...o~.Public Woxlcs of the County of Butte
is hereby directed ~o erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limits established herein within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its passage,
and before the expiration of fifteen (15}.days after its passage, it shall be
published with the. names of the members voting for and against the same, once
in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 7z~
