ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTI~N 8-3 OF THE BUTTE COUNTY CODE
REGARDING CIV~L UISASTER COUNCIL MEMB~RSHIP
The Board af Supervisors o~ the County of Butte ordains as
folloWS:
Section 1. Section 8-3 of the Butte County Code is amended to
read as follows:
Sectian 8-3. Civil Da.saster Council membersh~p.
The Butte County Civil Disaster Council is hereby created and
sha11 consist of the following:
{a) "Twa members of the Board of Supervisors of the
County, one of whom shall be the Chairman of the Board of
Supervisors who shall serve as Chairman of the Civil
Disaster Council, a.nd ane of whom shall be the Vice
Chairman of the Board of Supervisors wha shall serve as
a member o~ the Civil Disaster Council.
(b} The deputy d~.rector, Butte Caunty Civil Disaster
Counci~, who sha~.l serve as vice-chairman of the Civi].
Disast~r Cauncil.
(c) The mayor of each city in the county, or cauncil.
member select~d by the mayor of each city.
{d) The sher~.ff.
(e} The county superintendent o~ schaais.
(f) The County Administrati~e Officer and the city
manager o~ other administrative employee, as determined
by each city council, who shal~. serve as an ex-offico
member of the Civi~. Disaster Council withaut vate."
Section 2. The term "civil disaster", as used in Chapter 8 of the
Butte County Code has been replaced with the term "e~nergency
service." Therefore, all references to "civil disaster" within
said Chapter 8 of the Butte Caunty Code shall be understoad to mean
"emergency services."

Section 3. Severabilit .
If any part of this ordinance shall be held void by a court of
competent jur~sdiction, such part sha~l be deemed severable, and
the invalidity thereof sha11 nat affect the remaining parts of this
ordinance.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby declared to be
in full ~orce and effect from and after thirty (30) days after the
date of its passage, and befare the expiration af fifteen {15) days
atter its passage, this ~rdinance shall be published once with the
names of the members of the Board of S~pervisors v~ting for and
against it in the ~ri dl ey Hera~ d , a newspaper
published in the County of Butte, State of California.

of Butte, State of California, on the 21st . day af
