AN ORDIN.ANCE ESTABL~SHING SPEED LIMIT ON
DURHAM DAYTON HIGHWAY WITH~N THE COUNTY OF BUTTE,
STATE OF CALIF4RNIA ~
{VEHICLE C~DE SECTION 22357}
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, daes
ordain as follows:
S~ctionl; Said Board finc~s and detennines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described comes
within the pro~isions of Section 22357 of the Vehicle Code of the State of
California in that the existing speed limit is less than is most appropriate to
facilitate the arderly mo~~ment o#' traffic on sazd highway and determines and
declares a prnna facie speed lunit on such Butte County highway as follows:
' That a prima facie speed limit of forty (40) miles per haur is her~by deternuned,
declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 40 signs be placed at appropriate
Iocations an fihe hereinafter described County hi.ghway to wit:
DURHAM DAYTON HIGHWAY FROM STANFORD LANE TO LOTT ROAD

S~ction ~; .A.~1 ordiaances or parts of ordinanees in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.

ordinance are hereby dec~ared" independent and se~er~.ble and the invalidity, if any,
of a.ny feature, ~ part, provision, section or term thereof, shail not affect the
remainder of this ordinance, nor render ~he same i.~.operati~e or in~alid.
Section 4: The Department of P~blic Works of the . County of Butte is hereby
duected to erect appropriate signs giving notice af the prima facie spe~d limit. ,
esta.blished herein withi.n thirty {34) days of the adoption hereof.
This ozdinance shall take effect thirty (30) days afte~r its passage, and before the
expiration of f fteen {15) days after its passage, it sha11 be published with the names
of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local newspaper
published in the County of Butte, State of Cali~omia.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte, State o~ California, at the regular meeting thereof on tbe z~zd day of
March , 1993, by the follow~ng vote:
