ORDTNANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-].1.3 OF THE BUTTE COUNTY CODE
SETTING SPEC~FIED COUNTY RECORDER FEES
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte ordains as fol~ows:
Section l. Findin s. The Board of Supervisors makes the ~'ollowing
findings:
a. Government Code Section 5~985 authori.zes a county to increase
certain statutory and other ~ees as necessary to recover the costs
of praviding any product or service.
b. A fee study has been conducted to determine the cast of the Butte
County Recorder's office providing speci~ied services and produ~ts
and said study has been made avail.able to the public pursuant to
Government Code Section 54986.
c. A public hearing has been duly noticed and held on September 28,
~.993 purst~ant to the reqt~irements of Gavernment Code Section 54986
to consider sa~d study and to rec~ive ara~ or written presentations
pertaining thereto.
d. This ordinance is enacted pursuant to Article I, Section 1 0~
the Butte County Charter, Article XI, Section 7 of the Cali£ornia
Constitutian, and Government Cade Sections 54985 and 54986.
Section 2. Section 2-11.3 of the Butte County Code is amended and enacted
ta read as fallows:
"The fees speci~ied be~ow are hereby determined necessary to recover the
costs of pr~viding the respective products or services for which they
relate and are hereby established and adopted as the applicable fee
therefor:
1 a) Notary public, clerk's fee, plus regular recording fees.....$9.00
2 b) Marriage l~cense (county partion only) .....................$34.00
3 c} Con~idential marr~age certificate (county portian only)....$37.00

21 I£ any part o~ this ardinance shall be held void by a court of
22 competent jurisd~ction, such part shall be d~emed severable, and tha
23 invalidity thereof shall not affect the remaining parts of this ordinance.
24 Section 4. Ef~ective Date and Publication. This Ord~nance sha1l be and
25 it is hereby declared to be in tull force and etfect from and aft~r thirty
26 {30} days after the date af its passage, and before the expiration of
27 fifteen (15) days after its passage, this O~dinance sha~l be published
28 once wa.th the names of the members o£ the Boa~d of Supervisors voting for

and against it in the Ch~co ~nterprise Record , a newspaper
published in the County af Butte, State of California.
PASSED .AND ADOPTED by the Board af Supervisors o~' the County of
Butte, State of California, on the 28th day of september , 1993,
by the following vote:
