HomeMy WebLinkAbout3-13-61 - 2~ ~ _ _- ~ - ~. a ~~~ 1 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS 2 COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA 3 RESOLUTION RE FULL TIME DISTRICT ATTORNEY 4 WHEREAS, the County of Butte is a county of the twenty-sixth 5 class; and 6 WHEREAS, under Section 28126 of the Government Code, the 7 District Attorney of said County is paid the sum of $7,500.00 a 8 year, and is permitted to have private practice; and 9 WHEREAS, the term of office for which the incumbent District ZO Attorney of the County of Butte was elected will expixe at noon on 11 the 1st Monday in January of the year 1963; and 12 WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Supervisors of the 13 County of Butte to recommend to the Legislature of the State of 14 California that upon the expiration of the term of the incumbent 15 District. Attorney, that the office be made full time and private, 16 practice prohibited, and that the salary be increased to $13,200.0( 17 a year; I 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the BOARD OF SUPERVISORS of', i 19 the COUNTY OF BUTTES STATE OF CALIFORNIAt as follows: 20 1. That said Board respectfu.Lly requests that the Legisla-~ ~i 21 ture of the State of California amend sub-section (b) of Section 22 28126 of the Government Code of the State of California, said 23 amendment to be effective upon the expiration of the term of the 24 incumbent District Attorney, to read as follows, to wit: 25 "(b) The district attorney thirteen thousand two hundred dollars ($13200.00) a year. He shall not engage 2s in private practice of law and shall devote all of his time and attention during business hours to the duties 27 of his office," 28 2. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Senator 29 Paul L. Byrne, Assemblyman Harold T.
