HomeMy WebLinkAbout3-13-61 - 3~~. af~ i~~ .~~ -~~ r ~3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 ~.~~~ BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION IN RE PARKING ON EAST SIDE OF ROUTE 3 (U`. ` S. 99E) NEAR WILSON STREET WHEREAS, the bepartment of Public Works o'f the State of California has requested this Board to prohibit the parking and standing of vehicles along a certain portion of Route 3 (U. S. 99E; in Gridley, Butte County, California, as hereinafter more specifically set forth; and WHEREAS, the said Department of Public Works has approved this resolution in writing; and WHEREAS, it appears to the Board and the said Board finds that it is necessary for the public safety to prohibit the parking and standing of vehicles, as hereinafter set forth; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the BOARD OF SUPERVISORS of the COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, as follows: 1. That the parking and standing of vehicles upon and along the east side of Route 3 (U. S. 99E}, from the south line of Wilson Street to a point 48 feet south, in the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby prohibited, from and after the date of this resolution. 2. That appropriate signs shall be placed and maintained at and within the area hereinabove referred to and described. 3. That this resolution is adopted pursuant to the provisions of Sections 22506 and 22507 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California. 4. Any provision of this resolution which regulates traffic or delegates the regulation of traffic upon state highways in any way for which the approval of the Department of Public Works is required by state law, shall cease to be operative six (6) months after receipt by the Board of Supervisors of written notice of withdrawal of approval of the Aepartment of Public Works. -1- ~' ~_~~~ 1 5. Whenever this resolution delegates authority to a County 2 officer, or authorizes action by the Board of Supervisors to 3 regulate traffic upon a state highway in any way which by state 4 law requires the prior approval of the Department of Public Works, 5 no such officer shall exercise such authority nor shall such 6 action by the Board of Supervisors be effective with respect to 7 any state highway without the prior approval in writing of the 8 Department of Public Works when and to the extent required by 9 -the Vehicle Code. 10 The foregoing resolution was duly adopted and passed at a 11 regular meeting of this Board on the 13th day o£ March 12 1961, upon roll call by the following vote: 13 AYES: Supervisors Alldredge, 1'it~man, Pryde, Steinegger and Chairman Giles 14 NOES: None 15 ABSENT: None 16 17 18 ', 19 Chai n of`the Board of Supervisors, County of Butte, State of California 20 ATTEST: 21 HARRIETT JAMES, 22 Butte County Clerk and ex-officio Clerk of the Board of Supervisors 23 By 25 Deput lerk 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 -2-
