ORDINANCE NO. 3138
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN
ROADS WITHIN T8E CO[TNTY OF BIITTE,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(VEHICLE CODE SECTION 22358)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, does ordain as follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the
basis of an engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County
highways hereinafter described comes within the provisions of
Section 223587 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in
that the speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles per hour is more
(than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines and
declares a prima facie slaeed limit on such Butte County highways
as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit 'of twenty-five (25) miles per
hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that
SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on
the hereinafter-described County highways to wit:
FERN.AVSNIIE FROM WEST LiNDO AVENIIE TO WEST 11TH AVENIIE
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances- in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions,
sections and terms of this ordinance are hereby declared
independent and .severable and the invalidity, if any, of any
feature, part, provision, section or term thereof, shall not .
affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same
~~ inoperative or invalid.

Section 4~ The Department of Public Works of the County of
Butte is hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice-
of the prima facie speed limit established herein within thirty
(30} days of the adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30} days after its
passage, and before the expiration of fifteen {15} days after its
passage, it shall be published with the names of the members
voting for and against the same, once in a local newspaper
published in tlYe County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED .AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on
the I4th day of ,7une , 1991 , by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, Houx, Thomas and Chair McLaughlin
NOES : None
ABSENT : None
NOT VOTING: NOne
