ORDINANCE NO. 3142
AN ORDINANCE EBTABLI88ING SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN
ROADS WITHIN THS COIINTY OF BIITTE,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(VEHICLE CODE SECTION 22358)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, does ordain as follows:
Section 3.: Said Board finds and determines that upon the
basis of an engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County
highways hereinafter described comes within the provisions of
Section 223587 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in
that the speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles per hour is more
'.than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines and
(declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways
las follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25} miles per
hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that
SPEED LIMTT 25 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on
'the hereinafter-described County highways to wit:
CALIFORNIA 8TREET FROM HAMILTON-NORD-CANA HWY. TO TAYLOR STREET
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions,
sections and- terms of this ordinance are hereby declared
independent and severable and the invalidity, if any, of any
feature, part, provision, section or term thereof, shall not
affect the remainder of this. ordinance, nor render the same
~~ inoperative or invalid.

Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of
__.
,Butte is hereby directed to erect appropra.ate signs giving notice
of the prima facie speed limit established herein within thirty
(30) days of the adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its
passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its
passage, it shall be published with the names of the members
voting. for .and against the same, once in a local newspaper
published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on
the 28th day of June f 19 g 4 , by the following vote :
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Aolan, Houx, Thomas and Chair McLaughlin
NOES : None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
