HomeMy WebLinkAbout31511 Ordinance No. 351 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE 3 ADDING SECTION 2 - 26.2 TO CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE V 4 OF THE BUTTE COUNTY CODE 5 6 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, 7 ordains as follows: 8 Section 1. Pursuant to Government Code Sections 71341 and 71342 a county 9 board of supervisors is authorized to designate various places within a 10 municipal court district where sessions of the municipal court may be 11 held. Government Code Section 71342 further permits a county board of 12 supervisors to make such designations from time to time as the public 13 convenience requires. 14 Section 2. The Narth Butte County Municipal Court desires to conduct some 15 of its proceedings within the public and private high schools of the Town lb of Paradise and City of Chico in order further enhance the accessibility 17 of the court to the public and to educate the students of those 18 institutions in the workings of the Municipal Court system. The Board of 19 Supervisors of the County of Butte concurs with this stated goal, 20 Section 3. Section 2 _ 2&.2 is added to Article V of Chapter 2 of the 21 Butte County Code and shall read as follows: 22 "Section 2-25.2. 23 The north and south county judicial districts may from time to time 24 within their respective districts for which each court is established, 25 designate locations within public and private educational institutions 26 wherein their departments may conduct sessions." 27 Section 4. Severabilit zf any part of this ordinance shall be held 28 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 Z5 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 2b 27 28 void by a court of competent jurisdiction, such part sha11 be deemed severable, and the invalidity thereof shall not affect the remaining parts of this ordinance. Section 5. Effective Date; Publication. This ordinance shall be and is hereby declared to be in full force and effect 30 days from the date of its passage (Government Code Section 25123}. Within fifteen days of the date of its passage, this ordinance shall be published once with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against it in the Enterprise Recorcy a newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
