HomeMy WebLinkAbout33681 2 3 4 5 b 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 Ordinance No . 3368 AN ORDINANCE ENACTING BUTTE COUNTY CODE SECTION 10-21.1, ENTITLED "SEASONAL CLOSURE OF PORTION OF HUMBOLDT ROAD TN THE JONESVTLLE AREA", AND AMENDING BUTTE COUNTY CODE SECTION 10-22, TO BE ENTITLED "PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF SECTIONS 10-21 AND 10-21.1" The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte ordains as follows: SPCti ^n 1. En ctment of _ Butt~County Code fir; rt,~7.SZn 10-21-.1_._ Section 10.21.1 is enacted and added to the Butte County Code, to read as follows: ~a}- Closure. Humboldt Road, beginning at a point approximately one hundred feet (100') northeasterly of the entrance to the Jonesville Snowmobile Staging Area and continuing northeasterly 3.9 miles to the Butte County and Plumas County line, shall be closed seasonally to motor vehicles which are subject to registration pursuant to Division 3 {commencing with Section 4000} of the California Vehicle Code. The period of closure, shall be from January 2, 1998, through March 16,-1998. Section 10-22 of the Butte County Code is amended to read as follows: ~~ 21.1. Section 3. Pur}~ose- The purpose of this ordinance is: to protect the traveling public from the hazards of winter driving on that portion of Humboldt Road which is not and cannot economically be maintained by snow removal equipment; to protect the road from damage that could occur if motor vehicles were operated on it during winter storms and while snow remains on the road; and to allow, during the period of closure, the operation of snowmobiles far recreational and emergency purposes. section 4. ~. Section 6. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after the date of its passage. The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors is authorized and directed to publish this' ordinance before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after itsl passage. This Ordinance shall be published once, with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against it, in the Ch~.co Enterprise , a newspaper of general circulation published in the County of Butte, State of California.
