OF THE 4 COUNTY OF BUTTE, KNOWN AS THE "SALARY ORDINANCE" 5 6 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, DOES 7 ORDAIN as follows: 8 Section 1 that Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3590 of the County of Butte entitled 9 "020-001 ADMINISTRATIVE" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following: 10 Positions Classification Title 11 1 Deputy Administrative Officer (term position to end 9/3 0101) ' 12 thereby changing the total from 8 to 9. 13 II 14 11 15 11 16 11 17 11 18 11 19 11 20 11 21 11 22 II 23 1/ 24 11 25 11 26 II 27 11 28 11 1 2 This ordinance shall take effect immediately pursuant to Section 251230} of the 3 Government Code of the State of California; and before expiration of fifteen (15) days 4 after its passage, it shall be published in a newspaper in the County of Butte, State of 5 California. 6 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte this 7 1~th day of March , 2000, by the following vote: 8 9 AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Houx, Josiassen, Davis anc~ Chair Dolan 1~ NOES: None 11 ASSENT: None 12 NOT VOTING: None 13 14 n n 15 1b a 17 1 S ATTEST: 19 JOHN BLACKLOCK, Clerk of the 20 Board of Supervisors 21 Chair of the Board of Supervisors 22 B~ 23 24 25 26 27 28 Ordinance No. 3590 NOTICE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS' ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE; SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE (SALARY ORDINANCE AND POSITION ALLOCATION OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE) The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte gives notice. pursuant to Government Code Section 25124(b){1} of its adoption of a new Salary Ordinance that will supersede the existing Salary Ordinance Number 3552, as amended. The new Salary Ordinance was introduced at the regular meeting of the Board an February 22, 2000, and was adopted at the regular meeting of the Board on March 14, 2000. A certified copy of the full text of the proposed Salary Ordinance has been posted in the Office of the Clerk of the Board at 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, California, since February 10, 2000. Except for correction of typographical and technical errors, the renumbering of sections, and as otherwise indicated below, the substance of the proposed ordinance is the same as ~in Ordinance No. 3552, as amended. The following is a summary of the proposed ordinance: Section 1: Subject and Short Title. Identifies the subject of the ordinance as determining salaries and positions and that it shall be known as the "Salary Ordinance". Section 2 through 66: Allocated Positions. Identifies the number of allocated positions and appropriate classification designation staffing levels by Budget Unit Number and Department Name. Section 67: Salary Plan for Classified Positions. Identif es the Classified Positions and the appropriate salary designation per classification by employee association unit. The following two references have been added and replace the previously existing salary table: Reference A entitled "General Unit Classifcations, Effective: October 1, 1999," and Reference A entitled "General Unit CIassifications, Effective: July 1, 2000." Section 68: Salary Plan for Elected and Appointed Officials. Identifies the appropriate salary range designation for appointed and elected officials. Changes to this section include the following: Section 69:_Paym~nt_of Salaries and Wages. Specifies salary and wage policies shall be in accordance with the Merit System Ordinance and Resolution and when salaries are to be paid. Section 70: Repeal. Repeals Salary Ordinance 3552, all ordinances making amendments thereto, and any and all other inconsistent ordinances. Section 71: Severability. The invalidity of any part of the ordinance shall not affect the remaining parts. Section 72: Effective Date and Publication. The Salary Ordinance shall be in effect as of March 14, 2000. Within fifteen {15) days after its passage, a summary shall be published with the names of those supervisors voting for and against it, and a certified copy of the full text shall be posted in the Offce of the Clerk ofthe Board of Supervisors.
