6 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, DOES
7 ORDAIN as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 69 of Ordinance No. 3770 of the County of Butte
9 entitled "SALARY PLAN FOR CLASSIFIED POSITIONS, REFERENCE F,
t0 MANAGEMENT, CONFIDENTIAL, AND SUPERVISORY UNIT
11 CLASSIFICATIONS" is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the following:

2 This ordinance shall take effect immediately pursuant to Section 25123{~ of the
3 Government Code of the State of California; and before expiration of fifteen {15} days
4 after its passage, it shall be published in a newspaper in the County of Butte, State of
5 California.

NOTICE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS'
ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE N0.3770; SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE
{SALARY ORDINANCE AND POSITION ALLOCATION
OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte gives notice pursuant to Government
Code Section 25124(b)(1} of its adoption of a new Salary Ordinance that will supersede the
existing Salary Ordinance, as amended. The new Salary Ordinance was introduced at the regular
meeting of the Board on September 11, 2001, and adopted at the regular meeting of the Board on
September 2S, 2001.. A certified copy of the full text of the proposed Salary Ordinance has been
posted in the Office of the Clerk of the Board at 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, California,
since September 20, 2001.
The ordinance has added a new budget unit entitled "360-007 Sheriff-Coroner -Rural
County Supplemental Funding", which also includes the following positions: one {1} flexibly
staffed position of Information Systems Analyst II, I, two (2) flexibly staffed positians of
Information Systems Technician II, I, four (4) positions of Deputy Sheriff, and ane (1) flexibly
staffed position of Sheriff's Clerk III, II. In addition, one (1) term flexibly staffed posit~an of
Sheriff s Clerk II, I is being added to the budget unit entitled " 3&0-001 Sheriff-Coroner -
Services".
Except for cozxectian of typographical and technical errors, the renumbering of sections,
and as otherwise indicated below, the substance of the ordinance is the same as Salary Ordinance
No. 3743, as amended. The following is a sunux~ary of the adopted ordinance:
Section 1: Salaries and Short Title. Identif es the subject of the ordinance as determining
salaries and positions and that it shall be known as the "Salary Ordinance".

Section 2 through 6$: Allocated Positions. Identifies the number of allocated positions and
appropriate classifications authorized for each designated department or budget unit by Budget
Unit Number and Department Name. The proposed changes in this section are as follows:
Section 23: entitled "360-001 Sheriff-Coroner -Services" adds one {1) term flexibly
staffed position of Sheriff's Clerk II, I (Class Code 2251, 2250}, term to end 06-30-02.
Section 26: entitled "360-007 Sheriff-Coroner -Rural County Supplerr~ental Funding"
has been added along with the following positions: one (1) flexibly staffed position of
Information Systems Analyst II, I (Class Cade 7821, 7820), two {2} flexibly staffed
positions of information Systems Technician II, I (Class Code 7811, 7810}, four (4)
positions of Deputy Sheriff (Class Code 5501), and one (1) flexibly staffed position of
Sheriff's Clerk III, II (Class Code 2252, 2251}.
Section 69: Salary Plan for Classified Positions. Identifies the Classified Positions and the
appropriate salary designation per classification by employee association unit.
Section 70: Salary Plan for Elected and Appointed Officials. Identifies the appropriate salary
range designation for appointed and elected officials.
Section 71: Payment of Salaries and Wages. Specifies salary and wage policies shall be in
accordance with the Merit System Ordinance and Resolution and when salaries are to be paid.
Section 72: Re eal. Repeals Salary Ordinance No. 3743, alI ordinances making amendments
thereto, and any and all other inconsistent ordinances.
Section 73: Severabili The invalidity of any part of the ordinance shall not affect the
remaining parts.
Section 74: Effective Date and Publication. The Salary Ordinance shall be in effect as of
September 25, 2001. Within fifteen (15} days after its passage, a summary shall be published

with the names of those supervisors voting for and against it, and a certified copy of the full text
shall be posted in the Office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors.

2001 by the following vote:
