ORDINANCE NO. 3819
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON
CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(VEHICLE CODE SECTION 22358)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, does ordain as
follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and
traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described come within the provisions of
Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that the speed limit of fifty-five
(55} miles per hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines and
declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of fifteen (15} miles per hour is hereby determined,
declared and established and that "SPEED LIMIT 15" signs be placed at appropriate locations on
the hereinafter-described County highways to wit:
GARDEN ROAD FROM LOTT ROAD WESTERLY TO THE END OF PAVEMENT.
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and ternrAS of this ordinance
are hereby declared independent and severable and the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part,
provision, section or term thereof, shall not affect the renrlaizader of this ordinance, nor render the
same inoperative or invalid.
Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is hereby directed
to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie speed limit established herein within
thirty (30} days after its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, it
shall be published with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a
local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
