STATE OF CALIFORNIA
ORDINANCE NO. 3839
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON
CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(VEHICLE CODE SECTION 22358}
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, does ordain as
follows:
Section l : Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of engineering and
traffzc surveys, the Butte County highways hereinafter described come within the provisions of
Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that the speed limit of sixty-five
(6S) manes per hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines and
declares prima facie speed limits on such Butte County highways as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour is hereby determined,
declared and established and that SPEED LIlVIIT 25 signs be placed at appropriate locations on
the hereinafter-described County highways to wit:
1. ARROYO DRIVE, KELLY RIDGE ROAD TO BIDWELL CANYON ROAD
2. ROYAL OAKS DRIVE, FROM KELLY RIDGE ROAD TO ARROYO DRIVE
3. LODGEVIEW DRIVE, FROM KELLY RIDGE ROAD TO ARROYO DRIVE
4. LODGEVIEW DRIVE, FROM HILLCREST AVENUE TO KELLY RIDGE DRIVE
5. LODGEVIEW DRIVE, FROM HILLCREST AVENUE TO RiVERVIEW DRIVE
6. SILVER LEAF DRIVE, FROM CHAPARRAL DRIVE TO LODGEVIEW DRIVE
'7. SILVER LEAF DRIVE, FROM LODGEVIEW DRIVE TO LODGEVIEW DRIVE
8. APACHE CIRCLE, FROM LODGEVIEW DRIVE TO LODGEVIEW DRIVE
9. MONTROSE DRIVE, FROM ROYAL OAKS DRIVE TO ARROYO DRIVE
l0. JACK HILL DRIVE, FROM ROYAL OAKS DRIVE TO ROYAL OAKS DRIVE

Section 2: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and
traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described come within the provisions of
Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that the speed limit of sixty-fve
(65) miles per hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines and
declares prima facie speed limits on such Butte County highways as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit ofthirty-five {35) miles per hour is hereby determined,
declared and established and that SPEED LMT 35 signs be placed at appropriate locations on
the hereinafter-described County highway to wit:
MT. IDA ROAD, FROM OROVILLE BANGOR HIGHWAY TO OLD OLIVE
HIGHWAY
Section 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section 4: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms of this ordis
are hereby declared independent and severable and the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part,
provision, section or term thereof, shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the
same inoperative or invalid.
Section 5: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is hereby directed
to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie speed limits established herein within
thirty (30) days after its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen {15) days after its passage, it
shall be published with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a
local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 10~` day of December, 2002, by the following
vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Yamaguchi. and CYtaa.r Josiassen
