HomeMy WebLinkAbout3848i z 3 4 s 6 S 9 ~o t- iz l3 l4 ~s ]b 17 is ~a zo zi zz z3 z4 zs z6 z~ zs STATE OF CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 3848 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA (VEHICLE CODE SECTION 22358) The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, does ordain as follows: Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of engineering and traffic surveys, the Butte County highways hereinafter described came within the provisions of Section 2235$ of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that the speed limit of sixty-five (65}miles per hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines and declares prima facie speed limits on such Butte County highways as follows: That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIlVIIT 25 signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County highways to wit: 1. MARTIN STREET, FROM WISCONSIN STREET TO CLEVELAND AVENUE. 2. JACKSON STREET, FROM WISCONSIN STREET TO CALIFORNIA STREET. 3. BRUCE STREET, FROM HUMBOLDT ROAD TO VIRGINIA STREET. 4. GUILL STREET, FROM OHIO STREET TO CLEVELAND AVENUE. 5. WISCONSIN STREET, FROM BOUCHER STREET TO GUILL STREET. 6. COLORADO STREET, FROM BOUCHER STREET TO JACKSON STREET. 7. CALIFORNIA STREET, FROM BOUCHER STREET TO JACKSON STREET. S. MULBERRY STREET, FROM EAST 21sT STREET TO EAST 23RD STREET. 9. LAURAL STREET, FROM EAST 21sT STREET TO EAST 23RD STREET. Page 1 i z 3 4 5 6 a 9 io i~ 12 13 l4 is EG 17 ~a 19 zo zi zz 23 24 25 z6 27 28 Section 2: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that the speed limit of sixty-five (65} miles per hour is mare than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines and declare: prima facie speed limits on such Butte County highways as follows: That a prima facie speed Iimit of thirty {30) miles per hour is hereby determined, declare and established and that SPEED LIMIT 30 signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter_described County highway to wit: GLENWOOD AVENUE, FROM STATE ROUTE 32 {NORD AVENUE} TO WEST SACRAMENTO AVENUE. Section 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section ~: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms of this ordi~ are hereby declared independent and severable and the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section or term thereof, shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inoperative or invalid. Section S: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie speed limit established herein within thirty {30) days after its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15} days after its passage, it shall be published with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
