AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS AND IlVIPOSING OTHER SPECIFIED
RESTRICTIONS ON SPECIFIED ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte ordains as follows:
Section l . The Board finds and determines that upon the basis of engineering and traffic surveys, the
Butte County street hereinafter described comes within the provisions of Section 22357 of the Vehicle
Code of the State of California, in that the speed Iimit of twenty-five (25}miles per hour is less than is
reasonable and safe on said street and determines and declares that the prima facie speed limit on such
Butte County street shall be as follows:
A prima facie speed limit of thirty (30) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and
established and SPEED LIMIT 30 signs shall be placed in appropriate locations on the hereinafter-
described County street to wit:
1. SOUTH PARK DRIVE (COUNTY ROAD #61431), FROM SKYWAY {MP 0.00) TO WEST
PARK DRIVE (MP 1.59).
Section 2. The Board finds and determines that upon the basis of engineering and traffic surveys, the
Butte County streets hereinafter described come within the provisions of Section 22357 of the Vehicle
Code of the State of California, in that the speed limit oftwenty-five {25) miles per hour is less than is
reasonable and safe on said streets and determines and declares that the prima facie speed limit on such
Butte County streets shall be as follows:
A prima facie speed limit ofthirty--five (35} miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and
established and SPEED LIMIT 35 signs shall be placed in appropriate locations on the hereinafter-
described County streets to wit:

1. ANDOVER DRIVE (COUNTY ROAD #61435-D), FROM SOUTH PARK DRIVE (MP 0.00}
TO SOUTH PARK DRIVE (MP 1.27}.
2. IMPERIAL WAY {COUNTY ROAD #69441 & #69445-G), FROM STEIFFER ROAD (MP
0.00) TO GOLDCONE DRIVE (MP 0.94).
3. ROSEWOOD DRNE (COUNTY ROAD #69421), FROM SKYWAY (MP 0.00) TO
NORTHWOOD DRNE (MP 0.67).
Secfiion 3. The Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, the
Butte Countyhighwayhereinafter described comes within theprovisions of Section 22358 afthe Vehicle
Code of the State of California, in that the speed limit of forty (40} miles per hour is more than is
reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and declares prima facie speed limit an such Butte ~,
County highway in the following location as follows:
A prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and '~,
established and SPEED L1MIT 35 signs sha11 be placed in appropriate lacatians on the hereinafter- '~
described County highway to wit:
1. SKYWAY (COUNTY ROAD #51261-3},FROM SOUTH PARK DRNE (MP i 6.28) TO 500
FEET NORTH OF COLUMBINE ROAD {MP 19.12).

Section 4. The Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, the
Butte County highway hereinafter described comes within the provisions of Section 2235$ ofthe Vehicle
Code of the State of California, in that the speed limit ofsixty-five (65) miles per hour is more than is
reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and declares that the prima facie speed limit on such
Butte County highway in the following location shall be as follows:
A prima facie speed limit of forty (40) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and
established and SPEED LIMIT 40 signs shall be placed in appropriate locations on the hereinafter-
described County highway to wit:

1. NIMSHEW ROAD (COUNTY ROAD #64411), FROM SKYWAY (MP 4.02} TO CARNEGIE
ROAD (MP 3.34}.
Section 5: The Board finds and determines that the Butte County streets hereinafter described come
within the provisions of Section 21115 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that the streets
are located adjacent ta, or provide access to, a golf course and between the golf course and the place
where golf carts are parked or stored and are within or bounded by a real estate development offering
golf facilities. The following restrictions shall apply to the County streets listed within this section of
the ordinance:
{a) The speed limit for golf carts shall be 15 MPH.
(b) Hours of operation are limited to daylight hours.
(c) Golf Carts shall STOP at all road crossings before entering or crossing a roadway.
(d) Golf Carts shall travel on the paved right shoulder of the roadway wherever there is
sufficient width and clearance from obstacles.
These above mentioned restrictions, plus others which maybe applicable by the California Vehicle Code,
shall apply to the hereinafter-described County streets to wit:
1. ANDOVER DRNE (COUNTY ROAD #61435-D), FROM SOUTH PARK DRIVE (MP 0.00)
TO PONDEROSA WAY (MP 1.58).
VER DRNE MP 0.04 TO
2. SOUTH PARK DRIVE (COUNTY ROAD #61431), FROM ANDO ( )
WEST PARK DRIVE (MP 1.59).
3. WEST PARK DRNE (COUNTY ROAD #61441), FROM SOUTH PARK DRIVE (MP 0.00)
TO PONDEROSA WAY (MP 1.43).
Section 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 7: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is hereby directed to erect the
appropriate signs specified herein giving notice of the prima facie speed limits established herein within
thirty (30) days after its passage.

Section_8. Severability. if any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof to any person or
circumstances is for any reason held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision
shall be deemed severable, and the invalidity thereof shall not affect the remaining provisions or other
applications of the Ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application
thereof.
Section 9. Effective Date and Publication. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after the date
ofits passage. The Clerk ofthe Board of Supervisors is authorized and directed to publish this ordinance
before the expiration of fifteen (15}days after its passage. This Ordinance shall be published once, with
the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against it, in the Paradise
lost, a newspaper of general circulation published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, on the 23rd day of March , 2004, by the fallowing vote:
