ORDINANCE NO. 3929
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON
CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
{VEHICLE CODE SECTION X2358)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, does ordain as
follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and
traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described comes within the provisions of
Section 22358 of the Vehicle Cade of the State of California, in that the existing speed limit of
twenty-five (25}miles per hour previously established with Butte County Ordinance 1893 is
reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and declares prima facie speed Iimits on
such Butte County highway as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour is hereby determined,
declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25 signs be placed at appropriate locations on
the hereinafter-described County highway to wit:
1. BIGGS AVENUE (COUNTY ROAD #26455-E), FROM EIGHTEENTH STREET
(MP 0.34) TO TWELFTH STREET (MP 1..05), IN THERMALITO.
Section 2: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and
traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described comes within the provisions of
Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that the existing speed limit of
twenty-five (25) miles per hour previously established with Butte County Ordinance 648 is
reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and declares prima facie speed limits on

That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared
and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25 signs be placed at appropriate locations on the
hereinafter-described County highway to wit:
1. WHITE AVENUE {COUNTY ROAD #058205-Q), FROM EAST AVENUE
(MP 0.23) TO CHICO CITY LIMITS (NIP 0.59), IN NORTH CHICO.
Section 3: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and
traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described comes within the provisions of
Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that the speed limit of sixty-five
(65) miles per hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and
declares prima facie speed limits on such Butte County highway as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of forty (40) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and
established and that SPEED LIMIT 40 signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-
described County highway to wit:
1. TURNER AVENUE (COUNTY ROAD X04385-D), FROM STATE HIGHWAY 99
(MP 0.00) TO LARKIN ROAD (MP 1.06), SOUTH OF GRIDLEY.
Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herevcrith are hereby
repealed.
Section 5: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms of this ordu
are hereby declazed independent and severable and the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part,
provision, section or term thereof, shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the
same inoperative or invalid.
Section 6: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is hereby directed
to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie speed limit established herein within
thirty (30) days a$er its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen {15) days after its passage, it
shall be published with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a
local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.

California, at the regular meeting thereof on the i4t~day of March , 200b, by the
following vote:
