AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-x.20 OF THE
~ BUTTE COUNTY CODE

~ The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte ordains as follows:
~ Section 1. Article XV, Section 2-120, of Chapter 2 is amended to read

2-120 Payment authorized.

Grand jurors shall receive mileage reimbursement at the rate

12 applicable to County employees set forth in the Butte County Travel
13 Policy in effect for County employees who are not department heads or
14 non-represented employees, for private auto travel each way, while on
15 the business of the grand jury or to attend meetings. Grand jurors
16 shall also receive daily fee in the same amount as the per diem rate
1~ set forth in the Butte County Travel Policy in effect for County
18 employees who are not department heads or nan-represented employees
1g for each day in which they attend grand jury meetings. In no event
20
shall the mileage reimbursement or per diem payments for grand jurors
21
be less than the minimum set Earth in Penal Code Section 890.

Section 2. Severability.

24 If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof to any
~~ person or circumstances is for any reason held to be invalid by a
26 court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be deemed
27

severable and the invalidity thereof shall not affect the remaining
1
2 provisions or applications of the Ordinance which can be given effect
~ without the invalid provision or application thereof.
~ Section 3. Effective Date and Publication.
This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after the date of
~ its passage. The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors is authorized and
7 directed, before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its
8 passage, to publish this Ordinance once, with the names of the members
9
of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against it, in the
10
Enterprise-Record a newspaper published in the County of
11
Butte, State of California.
