HomeMy WebLinkAbout40842 3 9 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 Ordinance 4084 AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 44A, ENTITLED "JUVENILE CAMP," TO THE BUTTE COUNTY CODE The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte ordains as follows: Section 1. A new Chapter 44A, entitled "Juvenile Camp," is hereby added to the Butte County Code to read as follows: 144A-1 Established. There is hereby created and established, pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code section 880 et seq., a juvenile camp for the County of Butte. Said camp shall be known as the Butte County Probation Camp, Camp Condor, and may be so designated in court orders and other official documents. Said camp shall be situated at the site presently known as the Butte County Juvenile Hall unless changed by resolution of the Butte County Board of Supervisors. The internal affairs of said camp shall be under the management and control of the Butte County Chief Probation Officer. Said camp shall be under the charge and supervision of a Deputy Chief Probation Officer or other designee as appointed by the Chief Probation Officer. 44A-2 Court wards - work required. In accordance with Welfare and Institutions Code section 883, all court wards committed to the Butte County Probation Camp, Camp Condor, may be required to perform work of the type specified in said statute under the direction and control of the Chief Probation Officer. 44A-3 Designation of camp beds. The Butte County Probation Camp, Camp Condor, has available a total of 20 beds, designated as juvenile camp beds pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code section 881, and such beds are subject to the management and control of the Chief Probation Officer. Section 2. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstances is for any reason held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be deemed severable, and the invalidity thereof shall not affect the remaining provisions or other applications of the Ordinance which can be given effect without 1 1 2 3 4 5 MI 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 1 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 WE the invalid provision or application thereof. Section 3. Effective Date and Publication. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the date of its passage. The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors is authorized and directed, before the expiration of 15 days after its passage, to publish this Ordinance once, with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against it, in the Chico Enterprise Record, a newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
