HomeMy WebLinkAbout4108 1 Ordinance No: 4108 2 3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE 4 AMENDING CHAPTER 4, ENTITLED "ANIMALS," OF THE BUTTE COUNTY CODE 5 6 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte ordains as follows: 7 SECTION 1. Section 4-4 of the Butte County Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 8 4-4 Fees; late registration. 9 (a) The fee for kennel licenses shall be as adopted by Resolution of the Board of 10 Supervisors as part of the Butte County Master Fee Schedule. 11 In the event a kennel license is not obtained during the applicable period specified in 12 section 4-3 above, there shall be a late fee of two hundred dollars ($200.00) in addition to the 13 applicable kennel license fee. 14 (b) Dogs maintained in a kennel licensed pursuant to the provisions of this chapter 15 are not subject to the license fees specified in subsection (d) below. 16 (c) All dogs maintained in the kennel shall be vaccinated against rabies in compliance 17 with California law and shall wear a collar and a tag provided at the expense of the kennel owner 18 or operator. Such tag shall identify the kennel owner and the applicable Butte County kennel 19 license number. 20 (d) Dog license fees shall be as adopted by Resolution of the Board of Supervisors as 21 part of the Butte County Master Fee Schedule. 22 SECTION 2. Section 4-11 of the Butte County Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 23 4-11 Fees for impoundment, boarding and transport. 24 The public health department shall charge and collect fees from animal owners for the 25 redemption of impounded animals as adopted by Resolution of the Board of Supervisors as part 26 of the Butte County Master Fee Schedule. 27 The first, second, third and subsequent impoundments of art animal or animals shall be 28 1 accumulated and counted within any twelve (12) consecutive month period. 2 SECTION 3. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any 3 person or circumstances is for any reason held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, 4 such provision shall be deemed severable and the invalidity thereof shall not affect the remaining 5 provisions or other applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid 6 provision or application thereof. 7 SECTION 4. Effective Date and Publication. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days 8 after the date of its passage. The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors is authorized and directed to 9 publish this ordinance before the expiration of fifteen (l 5) days after its passage.
