Bag of Marijuana Purchased from a co-op grower who is paid, With no Business
license or none profit regulation? No permits, no registration.
to grew it, dry it, processed it and bag it.
Looks like the rowers are makin move either wa on this deal.
An exarriple of cost of a large marijuana grow that we watched go up i.n our community
last year. A man from Florida {Who's mailing address is sti11 Florida after a year)
bought the property just to grow marijuana. Brought in tractors, caterpillar and graded off
the who side of a 40 acre mountain, every tree and bush gone. This was one of the
photos shown as a disaster grading at the meeting on Feb 22,2011,
According to the county he paid $230,000 far the property. Then came the 10 a day for
days of double trailer semi loads of soil, the truck and trailer loads of moss and compose
and fertilizers and pickups full of 50 gallon drums of chemicals. Employees to do the
work and dig the 200 - aft x aft whales, which are framed with 2x12 wooden boxes with
4 - 2x2 poles on each one. The costs of this lumber alone is staggering. The stack of
compose was so big i# looked like a big white building. Cost of 200 started plants, cloned
by someone and grow in a hot house ail winter.
The electric bill to run the 220 powered well pumps to water all this. Employees to plant,
Water and spray the plants everyday, for 6 months. Then Water trucks every Saturday
when well water is not enough or well is dry.
Then came the workers to cut, dry and process the buds and bag it. Drying racks built
out of wood and wire, Electric or propane dryers to dry the buds.
It is impossible to believe that any average person could afford this. We make over
$60,000 a year, We have medical insurance for our medication with just the ca pay. If
we needed marijuana for our pain we would have to use our insurance at a pharmacy.
We could not afford to pay someone to grow it for us, according to the cost per plant
above. One growers brag about $100,000 for growing 6 scripts, $2777. Per plant.
Someone coming 2000 miles and investing this kind of money, is definably planning on
making a huge profit. This is BIG BUSINESS and BIG MONEY. But we are sure with
na business license, no permits, no regulation, no way to be tracked, these growers are
re ortin eve dime of income and a in there taxes to the State of CA. and the IRS.

TO: Board of Supervisors
Testimony by Fish and Game Lt. John Nares about the damage that large marijuana
grows are doing to our Forests and wildlife and water supply.
On January 23, 2011 Lt. John Nores spoke to the public at the Spouts Expa in
Sacramento, Ca., he also spoke on Channel 10 KXTV news at 6 P.M. where he gave
information to the news reporter about the c,,,~ ontamina#ion from the chemical,
and wildlife bein found dead for u to fve miles from these lar e
mari'uana rows.
Lt. John Nores speaking live on the new about the "danger in going out hiking, biking,
riding horses, hunting, fishing, you might not come back." There have 9 shooting in
2010 from large marijuana grows he told the news reporter.
On January 28, 2011 On the National Geographic Channel at 6:49 P.M. on DTV 276
Warden Brian Boyd took out a large marijuana grow in Shasta county, Lt. Jahn Nores
Testified on the program to the damage being done to the waterways and wildlife and
forest by these large marijuana grows. Quote
" ~ am outraged by the polluting of our streams,
destruction of the creeks,
POISONING of our DRINKING WATER,
destroying all the wildlife habitat,
killing animals and for generations to come."
"We have got to stop this in our forests, we have got to protect our
wildlife and resources."
Watching these programs was a verification for us that we are justified in being very
concerned about our 48 wells and cxeeks and our lake, the drinking water for many people
~ CQPY
We have 20 marijuana grows here in the foothills, many, many mare on Yankee Hill
above us all of the water coming to us and going into the lake.
Our grows are about 40 plants each, with one over 200 plants. Which is over 1000 plants.
1 do not know what the fish and game consider a large marijuana grow but, from the smell
of the chemical sprays and skunk smell of the plant it seems very large to us:
Even with the re lations ou are ro osin we would still have almost 360 plants here.
We have S lots at 40 acres at 30 plants = 240 Plants
We have 10 lots 10 acres at 12 plants=120 Plants
Which would still give us a minimum of 360 Plants going into our drinking water.
Permits and re ations to where the are lanted and what chemicals are used
is the onl wa to ho efull sto the contamination for all of us.
We have hard shale type ground and the water runs very shallow and thru crevasses in the
lava rocks, our water is not purified by running through a 100 feet of good dirt that's
required for purification,. That's why the developer was restricted to 10 acre minimum,
along with the small quantity o~ water available. The 40 acre lots up back are on the lake
and that's why they were restricted to 40 acres far one septic system from one single
family home. The 200 plants run ofddirectly into the lake should not be allowed at all.
This is wh we need the coon to re ate and ermit and ins ect these marijuana owe
and sa 'ust like the do with our se tic where we can ut them to rotect our wells and
the under ound streams and creeks that o directl into the lake.
