2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 ARTICLE IV, ENTITLED "ASSESSMENT
APPEALS BOARD", OF THE BUTTE COUNTY CODE
3 REGARDING PAYMENT OF ASSESSMENT APPEAL BOARD MEMBERS
4 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte ordains as
5 follows :
6 Section 1 . Purpose. This ordinance amends Chapter 21, Section 21-56
7 by changing the compensation for members of the Assessment Appeals
Board.

Section 2 . Section 21-56 of the Butte County Code is hereby amended
9
as follows:

Each board member shall be paid one-hundred fifty dollars
11
($150. 00) for each day the Assessment Appeals Board is in session for
12
four (4) hours or more. Each board member shall be paid seventy-five
13 dollars ($75 . 00) for each day the Assessment Appeals Board is in
14 session for less than four (4) hours . When an alternate member is
15 sitting on the Assessment Appeals board he shall receive the same
16 compensation as a regular board member and provided further that no
17 compensation shall be paid to any board member unless the particular
18 board member is actually sitting on the Assessment Appeals Board
19 while in session. Necessary travel expenses shall be paid as
20 determined by the Board of Supervisors .
21 Section 3. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance or the
22 application thereof to any person or circumstances is for any reason
held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
23
provision shall be deemed severable, and the invalidity thereof shall
24
not affect the remaining provisions or other application of the

I Ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
2 application thereof.
3 Section 4 . Effective Date and Publication. This ordinance shall take
4 effect thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption. The Clerk
5 � of the Board of Supervisors is authorized and directed to publish a
6 summary of this ordinance before the expiration of fifteen (15) days
after its passage. This ordinance shall be published once, with the
7
names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and
8
against it, in the Chico Enterprise Record and the Oroville Mercury-
Register, newspapers of general circulation published in the County
10 of Butte, State of California .
11 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
12 State of California, on the 12t" day of September, 2017, by the
13 following vote :
