AN ORDTNRI~~-E ESTABLISHING SPEED LhAIT ON COUIV'i_ _.dAD YdITHIN THE CHTCO AREA,
TN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vek~icle Code 511.3 (b)
4~fHEREAS, the Public 6'uorks Department of the County of Butte upon the
basis of an engineering and traffic survey has determined that the highy~~ay
hereinafter described comes within the provisions of Section 511.3 (b) of the
Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that the prima facie limit of 55
miles per hour is more than is reasonable safe on said highway.
NOVA, THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
of California, do ordain as follows:
1. That a prima facie speed Limit of thirty-five (35} miles pex hour
is hereby determined, declared and established on Cohasset Highs^,•ay, a County
road in the Chico area of the County of Butte, in accordance u,~ith Section
511.3 (b) of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, betveeen a point
3001 Southerly of the 1st Street entrance to Chico Airport to a point Northerly
300 from the Ath Street entrance to the Chico Airport.
2. THlkT 35 PAYEES PER HOUR speed Limit signs be placed at the limits
of the zone as designated in paragraph 1 above.
3. This Ordinance shall be, and it is hereby declared to be, in
full force and effect from and after thirty (30) days after the date of its
passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage
this Ordinance shall be published once, with the names of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it, in the ~RTTITFY HERALD a
newspaper published in the County of Butte, Stai~e of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, this~~7th .day of ~oyember, _ , 1956 by the
following vote:
