BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE NOe 57C
AN ORDINANCE F~~,.ABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON COUNTY rtOAD WITHIN' THE CHICO
AREA, IN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code 511e3 (b)
WHEREAS, The Public Works Department of the County of Butte upon
the basis of an engineering and traffic survey has determined that the highway
hereinafter described comes within the provisions of Section 51103 (b} of the
Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that prima facie limit of 55
,miles per hour is more than is reasonable safe on said highway„
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, do ordain as follows:
1, That a prima facie ]unit of thirty-five (35} miles per hour
is hereby determined, declared and established on East Avenue, a County
road in the Chico area of the County of Butte, in accordance with Section
57~a3 (b} of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, between a point
LOOP East of Sacramento Northern Railroad westerly to U,Sa Highway 99E,
2a THAT 35 ~IIIES PER HOUR speed limit signs be placed at the limits
of the zone as designated in paragraph l aboveo
3> This Ordinance shall be, and it is hereby declared to be, in
full force and effect from and after thirty (30) days after the date of its
passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage
this Ordinance shall be published once, with the names of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it, in the CHIGO ENTERPRISE , a
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte, State of California, this '7th day of January , 1957, by the
following vats:
