AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMTT ON COUNTX xiJisii WTTHIN THE CHICO
AREA, IN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF''CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code 511.3 (b)
WHEREAS, The 1?ublie Works -epartment of',the County of Butte upon
the basis of an engineering and traffic survey has determined that the highway
hereinafter described comes within the provision'of Section 511.3 (b) of the
Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that prima-facie limit of 55
miles per hour is more than is reasonable safe on said highway.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of the County of -Butte,
State of California, do ordain as follows.: ', ~
1. That a prima facie limit of twenty,-five (25) miles per hour
is hereby determined, declared and established on White Avenue, a County
road in the Chico area of the County of Butte, in accordance with Section
511.3 (b) of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, betureen Tom Polk
Avenue westerly to U. S. Highway 99E.
2. THAT 25 MTLES PER HOUR speed limit signs be placed at the 13mits
of the zone as designated in paragraph l above. ',
3. This Ordinance shall be, and it is hereby declared to be, in
full force and effect from and after thirty (30)'',days after the date of its
passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (ZS) days after its passage
this Ordinance shall be published once; with the, names of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it, in the CHICO ENTERPRISE , a
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
.Butte, State of California, this 11th day of March , 1957, by the
following vote: ',
