AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIIKTT ON COUNTY'~:c~3 WITHIN THE CHICO
A1~,EA, 3rI THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code 5ll.3 b )
1 WHEREAS, The Pub~i.c Works Department of the County of Butte, upon
2 the basis of an engineering and traffic survey has determined that the highway
3 hereinafter described comes within the provisimns of Section 513..3 (b) of the
4 Vehicle Code of the State of California, that in that prima facie limit of
~ 55 miles per hotnr is more than is reasonable and safe on said highway„
6 NOWy THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte'
'7 State of California, do ordain as followss
8 1. That a prima facie limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour
9 is hereby determined, declared and established on FAIR STREET, a County
l0 road in the Chico area of the County of Butter in accordance with Section
11 511,3 (b} of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, at a point on the
12 Chico city limit line near Twentieth Street, southeasterly to Ueso Highway

14 2e That 35 MTI.ES PER HOUR speed limit signs be placed~at the limits
15 of the zone as designated in paragraph 1 abovep
16 3a This Ordinance shall hey and is hereby declared to be, in full
17 force and effect from and after thirty {30) days after the date of its
18 passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage
19 this Ordinance shall be published once, with the names of the Boa of
20 Supervisors voting for and against it, in the Chico Enterprise .a

22 PASSED AND ADOPTID by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
23 Butte, State of California, this 8th day of July , 1957, by the
