3 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE OPPOSIE~TG ASSEMBLY BILL NO,. 1320

WHEREAS, California gasoline tax revenues are designated
5
for maintenance and construction of roads and highways throughout
6
the State; and
7
WHEREAS, said roads and highways are made available to.
motorists without regard as to the county of registration; and
9
WHEREAS, registered vehicles from one county are very
to
often found using roads and highways in other counties many miles
ll
away, but in the-same California State; and
12
WHEREAS, the State Legislature has seen fit to divide
13
the available tax revenue into two equitable portions to reduce
14
highway deficiencies in both the northern and southern,, portions
15
of the State; and
16
WHEREAS, this division, known as the'"Breed Formula",
17
specifies 55% for the south and 45% for the north, and has been
18
a satisfactory division for years;
19
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of
20
Supervisors of Butte County endorses the current "Breed Formula"
21
division of tax revenue.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
23
of Butte County does hexeby oppose the current Assembly No.
24
1320 - Rees, that proposes to change said formula, and also
25
opposes any similar legislation that may be proposed in the
26
future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board be
28
directed to forward copies of this resolution to each member
29
Board of Supervisors requesting endorsement by adoption, and to
30
Senator Paul L. Byrne and Assemblyman Harold T. Sedgwick, and

to the Board of Directors of the County Supervisors Association
32
of California.

The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Supervisor
Pryde , who moved its adoption, seconded by Supervisor
Steine er , and said Resolution was passed this 3 Y-C1
day of April, 1961, on ro11 call by the following vote:
