RESOLT~'PION NOo 61-28
ORDER EXCEPTING LEVY OF TAX FOR STRUCTURAL
FIRE PROTECTION IN THE INCORPORATED
AREA OF THE CITY OF CHTCO
WHEREAS, the County of Butte provides county funds for
structural fire protection in areas of the County in unincor-
porated territory, and in incorporated territory when requested;
and
WHEREAS, prior to July 1, 1961, the City of Chico has
petitioned the Board of Supervisors in writing for the exclusion
of the incorporated area of the City of Chico from the levy of
taxes for such purposes, supported by a Resolution adopted by the
governing board of such incorporated city;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT TS HEREBY ORDERED by the Board of
(Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as
follows:
1. That the ,incorporated area of the City of Chico is
jhereby excepted from the~levy of any tax to provide funds for
(structural fire protection in the County of Butte, and all prop-
erty within the incorporated limits of said City of Chico, inelud-
ing all property which may hereafter be annexed to said city,
prior to a tax levy being made thereupon, shall be excepted from
'the levy of any such tax.
2, That such exemption shall not apply to an appropriate
Lion made in accordance with Section 25642 of the Government Code
for the purpose of protecting forest, brush and grass lands
within said County.

The foregoing Order was adopted at a regular meeting of
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte held on the 2gth
day of May, •1961, by ,the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Alldredge, Pittman, Pryde, Steinegger & Chairman Giles
