LUND has tendered her resignation 7 as County Treasurer and ex-officio Tax Collector of the County 8 of Butte, effective September 1, 1961; and 9 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of 10 Butte has with regret accepted said resignation and ordered lI this Resolution, in appreciation of public services rendered by 12 MATTIE R. LUNDt to be prepared and submitted. 13 NOW, THERE~'OREa IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the BOARD OF 14 SUPERVISORS of the COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, as 15 follows, to wit: 16 1. That MATTIE R. LUND was first elected to the 17 office of County Tax Collector of the County of Butte in the year 18 1914, and assumed that office at the beginning of the term in 19 the year 1915. That in 1918, in addition to her duties as 20 Tax Collector of said County, she also became County Treasurer, 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 and has, during the ensuing years, filled said office with great ability and distinction. 2. That NIATTIE R. LUND, during her service to the County of Butte as aforesaid, has brought recognition to the County of Butte by reason of her activities as President of the California County Tax Collectors Association, as President of the California County Treasurers Association, and as Secretary- Treasurer of both organizations, and by serving on the various committees of said organizations in relation to legislative matters pending before the State Legislature. 3. That in addition to the above activities on the part of MATTIE R. LUND, she has brought credit to the County -1- ~.~~Il.;~;~' l ,2 3 4 6 6 7 8 '9 IO 11 12 13 14 15 16 ~7 18 19 20 . 21 22 23 2~ 2B 26 $'7 28 29 30 31 32 of Butte and to herself by her tireless efforts as a historian and as a member of many historical and fraternal organizations, including the Native Daughters of the Golden West, the l~ieighbors o£ Woodcraft and the auxiliary of the Grand Army of the Republic, and for her interest in all. new citizens of the United States inducted into citizenship by and through the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Butte. 4. That the Clerk of this Boated is authorized to certify and. forward to MATTZE R. LUND a copy of this Resolution as a testimonial of the sentiments of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte.
