HomeMy WebLinkAbout61-072~ ~~$~ 11 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 ].4 15 16 17 18 19 20' 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 321 Resolution No. 61 72` -~" ', BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION IN RE PARKING AT INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAY ROUTES 21 AND 87 SOUTHWEST OF THE CITY OF OROVILLE WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works of the State of California has requested this Board to prohibit the parking and standing of vehicles at the intersection of~wtate Highway Routes 21 and 87, southwest of the City of Oroville,`!~utte County, California, as hereinafter more specifically set forth; and WHEREAS, said Department of Public Works has approved this Resolution in writing; and WHEREAS, it appears to this Board, and said Board finds, that it is necessary for the public safety to prohibit the parking and standing of vehicles as hereinafter set forth; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the BOARD OF SUPERVISORS 'of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows: 1. That the parl~ng and standing of vehicles upon and along the hereinafter described portions of State Highway Routes 21 and 87 shall be and it is hereby prohibited from and after the date of this Resolution. Said portions of said State Highway Routes 21 and 87, upon which said parking and standing of vehicles is hereby prohibited, are described as follows, to wit: (a} Along the northerly side of Route 21 and the westerly side of Route 87 from a point 650 feet westerly of the intersection of said Routes 21 and 87 to a point 267 feet northerly from the inter- section of said highways. (b} On the southerly side of State Highway Route 21 and the westerly side of Route 87 from a point 568 feet westerly of the intersection of said State Highways to.:,a point 165 feet southerly from the intersection of said highways. 2. That appropriate signs shall be placed and maintained at and within the areas hereinabove referred to and described. 3. That this Resolution is adopted pursuant to the provisions -1- ~i~ ~2~~ 1 of Sections 22506 and 22507 of the Vehicle Code of the State of 2 California. 3 4. Any provision of this resolution which regulates traffic 4 or delegates the regulation of traffic upon state highways in 5 any way for which the approval o£ the Department of Public Works 6 is required by state law, shall cease to be operative six {6) q months after receipt by the Board of Supervisors of written notice 8 of withdrawal of approval of the Department of Public Works. 9 5. Whenever this resolution delegates authority to a County 10 officer, or authorizes action by the Board of Supervisors to 11 regulate traffic upon a state highway in any way which by state 12 law requires the prior approval of the Department of Public Works, 13 no such officer shall exercise such authority nor shall such ~,4 action by the Board of Supervisors be effective with respect to 15 any state highway without the prior approval in writing of the 16 Department of Public Works when and to the extent required by 17 the Vehicle Code. 18 The foregoing resolution was duly adopted and passed at a 19 regular meeting of this Board on the 28th day of Aueust , 20 1961, upon roll call by the following vote: 21 AYES: Supervisors Alldredge, Pittman, Pryde, Steinegger and Chairman Giles 22 NOES: None 23 ABSENT: None 24 25 _ ~,~ Chairm n of the Board of Supervisors 2g County of Butte, State of California 27 ATTEST: 28 EiARRIETT JAMES, Butte County Clerk and ex-officio 29 Clerk of the Board of Supervisors 30 31 Del u Clerk 32 -2-
