RESOLUTION N0. 61.86 ~-~~-~
RESOLUTION STRIKING OFF, SELLING AND AWARDING TO PACIFIC
GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, THE FRANCHISE
OF INSTALLING, MAINTAINING AND USING POLES, WIRES, CONDUITS AND
APPURTENANCES, INCLUDING COMMUNICATION CIRCUITS, IN SO PgANY AND IN
SUCH PARTS OF THE PUBLIC ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
AS THE GRANTEE MAY ELECT TO USE, AND OF USING SUCH POLES, WIRES,
CONDUITS AND APPURTENANCES FOR TRANSMITTING AND DISTRIBUTING ELEC-
TRICITY TO THE PUBLIC FOR ANY AND ALL LAWFUL PURPOSES, AS SET FORTH,'
IN A RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SAID COUNTY
OF BUTTE ON THE 28th DAY OF AUGUST , 19 61•
WHEREAS the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, a California
corporation, filed in the office of this Board on the 15th day of
August , 19 61 , its application for the franchise above men-
tinned and referred to; and
WHEREAS this Board, on the 28th dap of August , 19 6~.
adopted a resolution declaring its intention of granting said fran-
chile upon the terms and conditions in said resolution set forth; and
WHEREAS due notice of the sale of said franchise has been:
published in the manner and for the time prescribed by law and by the
aforesaid resolution; and
WHEREAS this Board, at the time specified in said resole-
tion and in said notice, viz., at the hour of 11:04 ofclock a .m.,
on Monday , the 2nd day of October , 19 61, met in open ,
session for the purpose of opening and acting upon any bids that
might be filed pursuant t.e said notice; and
WHEREAS said Pacific Gas and Electric Company, before the
time appointed for the opening of said bids, had filed herein its
sealed bid for said franchise whereby it offered for said franchise
tha sum of One Hundred 0100.00} Dollars in lawful money o£ the
United States of America, and said sealed hid was accompanied by the
certified check of said Pacific Gas and Electric Company, payable to
the Treasurer of the County of Butte for the full amount.
of said bid; and
WHEREAS no other or higher bid was filed or made for said
franchise;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte , that the aforesaid franchise be,
and the same is hereby, struck off, sold and awarded to said Pacific
Gas and Electric Company, its succe$sors and assigns, for the sum of
One Hundred 0100.00) Dollars in lawful money of the United States
of America, upon the terms and conditions set forth in said bid,
said notice and said resolution, to all of which reference is here-
by made for a more particular statement of said terms and conditions.
ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte , on the 2nd day of October , 19 61 , by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Alldredge, Pittman, Pride, Steineg er and
Chairman Giles
NOES: Supervisors None
ABSENT: Supervisors None
