RESOLUTION NO. 61 -- 97
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED WEED CONTROL AREA IN THE
DURHAM-DAYTON AREA OF THE COUNTY' OF BUTTE
WHEREAS, the landowners of an area south and west of
Durham, bordered on the north by the Durham-Dayton Road, on the
west by the Goodspeed-Watt Road, and on the south to a section
line one mile,:: south of Pratt-Grant Road, across to Durham-Nelson
Road, then up to White Drive and across White Drive to Midway,
and then north on Midway to Durham, California, have petitioned
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, for the formation of a weed control area for the
control of the noxious weeds, namely, Johnson Grass and Puncture
Vine; and
WHEREAS, there is no statutory provision for such a weed
control area and that said areas heretofore have been formed
throughout the state by general agreement of policy between the
Board of Supervisors of the County and the landowners in the area
and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the board of Supervisors of
the County of Butte to comply with the request of said petition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte, State of California as follows:
1. That said Board hereby accepts the offer contained
in said petition for the formation of a weed control area for
the control of the noxious weeds Johnson Grass and Puncture
Vine in the area hereinabove described.
2. That conditioned upon performance by all of the
landowners of all measures necessary to prevent the spread of
Johnson Grass and Puncture Vine and to bring said noxious weeds
under control in as effective manner as possible, this Board

intends to do the following:
(a) Through the Agricultural Commissioner, endeavor
to control said noxious weeds on all county roads and county
owned property and to enter into contracts with public utilities
and the State for the control of their rights of way if needed
and when possible.
(b) Request the Agricultural Commissioner to give
such time in the discretion of said Board and the Agricultural
Commissioner as is necessary to supervise the control work in
the area and to assist the farmers with technical information
concerning control measures and endeavor to secure cooperation
from all concerned.
The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Supervisor
Alldredge , who moved its adoption, seconded by Supervisor
Pittman and said Resolution was passed this 27th day
of November, 1961, on roll call by the following vote:
