BoAxD of suPERVZSORs
COUNTY OF BUTTE. STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION FAVORING
INCRE9SE IN PRICE OF GOLD
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
of California as follows:
1. That said Board favors an increase in the. price of.demestically
mined gold to a price commensurate with current economic conditions ~iy
whatever means are readily available to the. Congress of the United States.
2. That it expresses its opposition to ebanging the present law
requiring the Treasury to hold gold to the value of_25~ of_the outstanding
notes and deposit liabilities of Federal-Reserve Banks,-.and it recommends
that a careful and exhaustive study. be made o~ the relationship of gold to
the value of the dollar, with particular reference to the effect of this
relationship on the economics of the Western States where the major portion
of domestic gold is mined. _ _
3. That the 61erk of this Board supply certified copies of this resolution
to all persons designated by the Chairman of this Board.
The foregoing resolution was duly passed and ,adopted by the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,. at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 27th -day of NOVemher ~ 19b1 by the following
vote:
