3 COUNTY OF BUTTE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
4 RESOLUTION APPORTIONING COSTS OF BUTTE COUNTY
LIBRARY-SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS BUILDING
5 AND PROVIDING FOR RE-PAYMENT FRONT COUNTY FREE
LIBRARY FUND OF PROPORTIONATE BETAKE THEREOF

WHEREAS, the County of Butte is presently constructing
7
a building on County property at Thermalito, commonly known as
8
the Butte County Library-Superintendent of Schools Building; and
9
WHEREAS, Lorrin L. Ward, architect and engineer in
10
charge of the construction of said building, has at the
11
request of the Board of Supervisors, estimated that the portion
12
of said building occupied by the library constitutes approximatel
13
one-half (i) of the total-construction costs; and

WHEREAS, Section 27271 of fhe Education Code provides

that when any such building is constructed out of the County's
16
General Fund, that said construction costs may be repaid out of
17
County Free Library Funds for as many years as are determined
18
by the Board of Supervisors, but not to exceed twenty (20),
19
the pertinent part of which Code Section reads as follows:

°. If payment is made from the county's
81 general fund, the county auditor shall each fiscal
year thereafter transfer from the county free library
22 fund to the county's general fund as a prior claim
against the county free library fund for as many
23 years as are determined by the board of supervisors
but not to exceed 20, an equal annual installment
24 in such amount that over the designated period of
years the entire payment from the county's general
25 fund will be completely repaid. ."'
26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of
27 Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as
28 follows:
29 1_ That one-half (~) of the costs of the Butte County
30 Library-Superintendent of Schools Building is hereby allocated
31 and charged against the County Free Library Fund, and the
32 Auditor of the County of Butte is hereby authorized to repay

1 said costs from the County Free Library Fund as provided in
2 said Code Section 27271 in amounts to be hereafter determined
3 and set by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte
4 either by minute order or by budgetary provision.
5 The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Supervisor
6 prpde who moved its adoption, seconded by Supervisor
7 Steinegger and said Resolution was passed this 22nd day
g of January, 1962, on roll call by the following vote.
