COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
` RESOLUTION IN RE PARKING ON STATE HIGHWAY B.OUTE NEAR NTELSEN AVENUE

WHEREAS the Department of Public Works of the State of California

has requested this Board to prohibit the parking and standing of vehicles an a
4 portion of State Route 3 near Nielsen Avenue, County of Butte, State of
~ California, as hereinafter more particularly described; and
6 WHEREAS said Department of Public Works has approved this Resolution
7 in writing; and
$ WHEREAS it appears to this Board, and said Board finds, that it is
9 necessary for the public safety to prohibit the parking and standing of
10 vehicles as hereinafter set forth;
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors, County
12 of Butte, State of California, as follows:
13. 1. That the parking and standing of vehicles is hereby prohibited
14 from and after the date of this Resolution upon that portion of State Route 3,
15 situate in the County of Butte, State of California, more particularly described
,16'- as follows:
17 Along both sides of State Route 3 from Station 130f1~0,
lg delineated by a culvert marker, northerly approximately
700 feet to the centerline of Nielsen Avenue.
I19 2, That appropriate signs shall be placed and maintained at
20 and within the area hereinabove referred to and described.

3. That this Resolution is adopted pursuant to the provisions of
'22 Sections 22506 and 22507 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California.
23 1,. Any provision of this Resolution which regulates traffic or
2~ delegates the regulation of traffic upon state highways in any way for which
2$ the approval of the Department of Public Works is required by state law,
28 shall cease to be operative six (6} months after receipt by the Board of
27 Supervisors of written notice of withdrawal of approval of the Department of
'28 Public Works.
28 5. Whenever this Resolution delegates authority to a County officer,.
',30 or authorizes action by the Board of Supervisors to regulate traffic upon a
3.1 state highway in any way which by state law requires the prior approval of the
32 Department of Public Works, no such officer shall exercise such authority nor

shall such action by the Board of Supervisors be effective with respect to
arty state highway without the prior approval in writing of the Department of
Public Works when and to the extent required by the Vehicle Code.
The foregoing resolution was duly adopted and passed at a regJJUlar

1962, upon roll call by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Giles, Pittman, Steinegger and Chairman Alldredge.
NOES: None
ABSENT Supervisor Pryde
NOT VOTING: None
