S COUNTY OF BUTTE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
4 NOTICE AND RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ABANDON COUNTY
HIGHWAY AND NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
5 (Sections 954, 955 and 956, Streets and Highways Code)
6 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF
7 BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, as follows:
'$ 1. That it is the intention of said Board of Supervisors
'.9 to abandon the county highway hereinafter described, if it is
10 determined at the hearing as hereinafter set, that said county
Z1 highway, for a period of five (5) successive years was impassible
12 for vehicular traffic, and during such period of time no public
13 monies were expended for maintenance, and that said county
14 highway is an unnecessary highway subject to abandonri~ent
15 pursuant to Sections 954, 955 and 956 of the Streets and Highways
16 Code of tb.e State of California.
17 2. That the hearing on this resolution to abandon county
18 ~
highway shall be held on Monday, the 9~ day of ~P q'i ~ Abril ,
19 1962, at 11.00 a.m4 of said day, ar as soon thereafter as the
20 business of the Board will permit, in the Supervisors' Room in the
21 Butte County Court House, fronting on Huntoon Street, in Oroville,
22 California, at which time said Board will hear evidence of any
23 party interested.
24 3. That this resolution and notice is adopted pursuant to
25 a petition filed for the abandonment of said county highway,
26 4. That a copy of this resolution and notice shall be
27 .posted at least two weeks prior to the date fixed for the hearing
28 conspicuously along the line of said county highway proposed to
29 be abandoned and shall be
posted not less than 500 feet apart, but
30 at least three (3) shall be posted.
31 5. That the county highway the subject of this resolution

and notice is situate in the County o£ Butte, State of California,

and described as follows:
Being a portion of "Carleton Avenue", as shown on the
"Map of the Western Pacific Addition",' filed in the
office of the County Recorder of the County of Butte,
State of California in Book 4 of Mapse page 16 and more
particularly described as follows:
All of that part of said Carleton Avenue lying between
blocks 57 and 68 of said Western Pacific Addition. being
bounded on the north by the easterly extension of the
southerly line of Gray Avenue on the southeasterly by
said block 68 on the southwesterly by the southeasterly
extension of the northeasterly line of Lott Sweet and
on the northeasterly by said block 57.
The foregoing resolution was adopted and passed on the 12th
day of March, 1962, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Giles, Pittman, S'teinegger and Chairman Alldredge
NOES : None
ABSENT : Supervisor Pryde
