2 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTES STATE OF CALIFORNIA
3 RESOLUTION ORDERING AND AUTHORIZING PRISONERS TO
4 PERFORM LABOR UPON PUBLIC GROUNDS, ROADS~_ STREETS,
ETC.

B WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
7 State of California, in accordance with Sections 4017, 4018,
g 4018.5, 4019, 4019.2 and 4019.3 of the Penal Code of the State of
9 California, and Section 25359 of the Government Code of the State
10 of California, may order and provide for the performance of work
11 upon public grounds, works and ways of the County by prisoners
12 confined in the County Jail; and
13 WHEREAS, said Board in accordance with said sections may
14 .prescribe and enforce the rules and regulations under which such
15 labor is to be performed.
lg NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
17 Butte, State of California, does hereby order and prescribe as
18 follows:
19 1. That prisoners confined in the County Jail of the
20 County of Butte, State of California, perform labor on public
21 works and ways in the County in accordance with the aforesaid
22 code sections,
23 2, That the Sheriff of the County of Butte is hereby
24 authorized to provide clothing of a distinctive nature to be
25 worn by said prisoners while so employed.
26 3. That all prisoners so employed shall receive good
27 behavior time credit in accordance with sections 4019 and 4019.2.
28 of the Penal Code of the State of California.
2g 4. That prisoners employed in accordance with this order
30 shall be under the direction of a responsible person appointed by
31 the Sheriff; and their transportation to and from the County Jail
32 or other place of confinement to the place of work shall also be
under the direction of a responsible person appointed by the

The foregoing resolution was duly and regularly adopted by
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte at a meeting held
on the 7th day of August, 1962, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Giles, Pryde, Steinegger and
Chairman Alldredge
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Pittman
NOT VOTING: None
