BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIE'ORNIA
RESOLUTION OF CONDOLANCE AND APPRECIATION
OF PiTBLIC SERVICE OF SENATOR PAUL L. BYRNE
WHEREAS, PAUL L. BYRNE was at the time of his death a Senator of
the State of California, representing the Sixth District of said State, which
consists of the County of Butte; and
WHEREAS, prior to his election as Senator of the State of California;
he served as President of the Chico Chamber of Commerce, and was active in
civic and public affairs of the City of Chico and the County of Butte; and
WHEREP,S, Senator PAUL L. BYRNE was at the time of his death chairman
of the committee on agriculture of the Senate of the State of California;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows, to wit:
1. That said Board, on behalf of the people of the County of
Butte, extends to the family of PAUL L. BYRNE condolences for their loss, the
County's loss and the lass to the State of California.
2. That PAUL L. BYRNE had served as Senator of the Sixth District,
the County of Butte, of the State of California, with honor and distinction,
that said service had been untiring, constant and always in the best interest
of the people of the County of Butte, and that this Board of Supervisors
hereby expresses its sorrow for the loss of said services and at the same
time its appreciation of said services so ably and tirelessly rendered to
the County of Butte and to the citizens thereof.
3. That the Clerk of this Board is authorized to certify and
deliver to ELSI.E F. BYRPIE and PAUL BYRNE, the surviving wife and son of
Senator PAUL L. BYRNE, a copy of this Resolution.
The foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 11th day of
