ORDER AND RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY
OF BUTTE PROVTDTNG FOR CONSOLIDATION OF SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOND ELECTION OF CHICO CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SPECIAL SCHOOL
DISTRICT BOND ELECTION OF THE CHICO HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT WITH
THE GENERAL STATEWIDE ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 6, 1962.
(Elections Code Section 23303)
WHEREAS, the Governing Board of the Chico City school
District of Butte County, California, has called and ordered to be
held in said District on the 6th day of November, 1962, a special
school district bond election, and has requested this Board to
order consolidation of said special school district bond election
with the Statewide General Election to be held on November 6,
1962, and has further authorized this Board to canvas the return
of said special school district bond election; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Board of the Chico High School Dis-
trict of Butte County, California, has called and ordered to be
held in said District on the 6th day of November, 1962, a special
school district bond election, and has requested this Board to
order consolidation of said special school district bond election
with the Statewide General Election to be held on November 6,
1962, and has further authorized this Board to canvas the returns
of said special school district bond election.
NOWT THEREFORE, be it ordered and resolved by the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California as
follows
1. That the special school district bond election to be
held in the Chico City School District on November 6, 1962, at
which election there shall be submitted to the qualified electors
of said District the measure of incurring bonded indebtedness of
said District for the purposes set forth in the following measure,
to wit:
Shall Chico City School District of Butte County incur
a bonded indebtedness in the sum of ONE MILLION THREE HUNDRED
FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,340,000.00) for the purposes of raising

1 money for the following purposes (which are hereby united and
2 shall be voted upon as one single proposition), to wit:
3 (a) The purchasing of school lotso
4 (b) The building or purchasing of school buildings.
'5 (c) The ma7cing of alterations or additions to the scho~
6 building or buildings other than such as may be necessary for
7 current maintenance, operation, or repairs.
8 (d) The repairing, restoring or rebuilding of any
9 school building damaged, injured, or destroyed by fire or other
10 public calamityo
Z1 (e) The supplying of school building and grounds with
12 furniture, equipment or necessary apparatus of a permanent nature.
13 (f) The permanent improvement of the school grounds.
14 (g) The carrying out of the projects for purposes
15 authorized in Section 15811 of the Education Code, to wit:,
18 Providing sewers and drains adequate to treat and/or dispose of
17 sewage and drainage on or away from each school property.
18 That the special school district bond election be and the same is
19 hereby consolidated with the Statewide General Election to be
20 held November 6, 1962.
21 2. That the special school district bond election to be
22 held in the Chico high School District on November 6, 1962, at
23 which election there shall be submitted to the qualified electors
24 of said District the measure of incurring bonded indebtedness of
25 said District for the purposes set forth in the following measure,
26 to wit:
27 Shall Chico High School District of Butte County incur a
28 bonded indebtedness in the sum of ONE MILLION EIGHT HUNDRED TWENTY
29 FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,824,000,00) for the purposes of raising
30 money for the following purposes (which are hereby united and
31 shall be voted upon as one single proposition.) to wit:

(a) The purchasing of school lots.

15 That the special school district bond election be and the same is
16 hereby consolidated with the Statewide General Election to be held
17 November 6, 1962.
18 3. That the returns of said special school bond election
19 of the Chico City School District and the special school bond
20 election of the Chico High School District shall be canvassed by
21 the County Clerk of the County of Butte and certified to the
22 Governing Board of the respective districtso Further, said
23 consolidated special school district bond elections and the
24 Statewide General Election shall be held in all respects as though
2S there were only one election.
26 4. That the measure to insure-bonded indebtedness of the
27 Chico City School District shall be set forth in each form of
28
ballot to be used at said Statewide General Election, within the
29
boundaries of said Chico City School District; that said measure
30
of incurring bonded indebtedness in Chico High School District
31
shall be set forth in each form of ballot to be used at said
32
Statewide General Election within the boundaries of said Chico

5. The County Clerk of the County of Butte is hereby
ordered and directed to provide the election precincts, polling
places, and voting booths for each of said elections hereby
consolidated, which, in each case, shall be the same and there
shall, be only one set of election officers in each of said
precincts_ Said County Clerk of the County of Butte is further
ordered and directed to print upon each of the ballots to be
used at said Statewide General Election within the boundaries of
Chico City School. District the measure of said District as set
forth in Section 1 of this order and resolution; and to print
upon each of the ballots to be used at said Statewide General
Election within the boundaries of Chico High School District the
measure of said District as set forth in Section 2 of this Order
and Resolution, Said County Clerk is further ordered and
directed (a) to set forth on all sample ballots of sa~::d Statewide
General Election to be mailed to the qualified electors of Chico
City School District the measure as set forth in Section 1 of this
Order and Resolution; (b) to set forth on all sample ballots
of said Statewide General Election to be mailed to the qualified
electors of Chico High School District the measure as set forth
in Section 2 of this Order and Resolution; (c) to provide absentee
voters ballots for said Statewide General Election and said
special Chico City School and special Chico High School District
bond elections hereby consolidated therewith for use by the
qualified electors of said districts who may be entitled to such
absentee ballots, in the manner provided by law<
6, The County Clerk of the County of Butte is hereby
authorized to charge Chico City School District and Chico High
School District the additional expense of printing upon the
sample and official ballots the school bond measures of said
Districts to be submitted to the qualified electors of said

Districts and such other incidental expense as may be incurred
solely by reason of this Order of consolidation.
The foregoing Order and Resolution was introduced by
Supervisor Giles who moved its adoption, seconded
by Supervisor Pryde and said Order and Resolution
was adopted and passed this 18th of September, 1962, upon gall
call by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Giles, Pittman, Pryde & Chairman Allc
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Steinegger
