WHEREAS the development ar~d future growth of Butte County
depends upon an adequate supply of water, and
'idHEKEAS it is necessary to provide continuous sources of
water to adequately and reasonably supply all the beneficial
needs of the inhabitants and pxoperty owners of Butte County,
and
~fiEKEAS 'ft is iietermined by this Board that the present
provisions for supplying water to Butte County, as set forth
in the contracting principles of the Department of mater
Resources, are not to the best interests of Butte County, and
~HE1~EA5 it is the opinion of this Board that appropriate
action is required to conserve-and develop an adequate supply
necessary to this benefit to Butte County,
Nf)~ THEREFa'RE BE IT RES£iTZVED, by the Board of Supervisors
of the Gounty of Butte, State of California, that the County
of Butte shall file with the State mater Rights Board an
application for the unappropriated water in the Feather River
necessary for the future growth and development of Butte
County and adjacent areas, and takes such other and necessary
action as ~ necessary for the full utilization of such water.
BE IT FURTHER KESQZVED by the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Butte, State of California, that such further
appropriate action necessary to acgv.ire unappropriated water
in the Feather River and other streams in the County as may
be necessary for the future growth and development of Butte
County, be taken.

BE IT F'[JRTHER RE;33C=I.VED by the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Butte, State of California, that the Chairman
of this Board be, and he hexeby is authorized to execute such
documents as are necessary to effect these filings.
PASSER AND ADE6PTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, on this 26th day of
March, 1963, by the following voter
