HomeMy WebLinkAbout63-104RESOLUTION N0. 63104 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS SIERRA DEL ORO, UNIT N0. 1 RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, that WHEREAS, the said Board did, on the 18th day of June, 1963 adopt._,.its Resolution of Intention No. 63W67 to order the construction of grading, pavement, water distribution facilities and appurtenances, and storm drainage facilities and appurtenances in Sierra del Oro, Unit No< 1 in said County, all as more particularly described and set forth in said Resolution of Intention; and WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of July, 1963, bids were received for the work to be performed; and WHEREAS, all of said bids were in excess of 10% of the cost estimate of the Engineer of Work, said bids were rejected and the Engineer of Work directed to prepare revised cost estimates; and WHEREAS, said revised cost estimates have been, this date, filed with the Clerk of this Board; NOWT, THEREFORE, the County Clerk of said County is hereby directed to publish once a week for two weeks, in the Paradise Post, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in said County, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the construction of said improvements, and referring to the plans and specifications on file in the office of said -1- i~ County Clerk, the first of which publications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the time fixed for opening bids. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check payable to the County amounting to not less than ten per cent (10°G) of the bid, or by a bond for that amount and so payable, signed by two sureties who shall justify before any officer competent to administer an oath, in double that amount and over and above all statutory exemptions, or by a corporate surety bond to the satisfaction and approval of the County Surveyor. Said check shall be forfeited or said bond shall become payable to said County in case the bidder depositing the same does not, within twenty-five (25) days after the first publication of notice of award, enter into a contract with the County Surveyor of said County. Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the County Clerk of this County on or before 11:00 o'clock A.M. on the 27th day of August, 1963, said time being not less than ten (10) days from the time of the first publication of said notice.
