3 COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
4 RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF PUBLIC SERVICE
RENDERED BY MARION E. UTT
5
WHEREAS, MARION E. UTT, of Paradise, Butte County,
6
California, died on the 24th day of February, 1964; and
7
WHEREAS, MARION E. UTT, at the time of his death and
8
for fifteen years prior thereto, was the owner and publisher
9
of the Paradise Post, a newspaper printed and published in
10
Paradise, Butte County, California; and
11
WHEREAS, during said time MARION E. UTT, as a citizen
12
and publisher, has rendered great public service to the County
13
of Butte in initiating the move for the construction of the
14
Paradise High School and actively aiding and assisting the
15
County in its efforts to have the Clark Road included in the
16
State highway system and participating in the campaign which
17
resulted in the recent successful bond election in the Paradise
18
Unified School District, and actively participated in the
19
public and civic affairs of Paradise in particular and in the
20
County of Butte generally; and
21
WHEREAS, for many years MARION E. UTT covered for his
22
newspaper the meetings of this Board and has been personally
23
acquainted with the members of said Board for many years.
24
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the BOARD OF
25
SUPERVISORS of the COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, as
26
follows, to wit:
27
1. That said Board wishes to express its feeling of
28
deep personal loss by reason of the death of MARION E. UTT,
29
and wishes to extend its condolences to his wife, KEDMA UTT, •
30
and to the members of his family.

2. That said Board hereby acknowledges and expresses

1 its appreciation for the public service rendered by
2 MARION E. UTT during his lifetime to the community of Paradise
3 and to the County of Butte.
4 The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Supervisor
5 Steinegger , who moved its adoption, seconded by
6 Supervisor Giles , and said Resolution was passed
7 and adopted this 3rd day of March, 1964, on roll call by
8 the following vote:
9 AYES: Supervisors Giles, Pryde, Steinegger and Chairman McKillop
10 NOES: None
11 ABSENT: Supervisor Alldredge
