WHEREAS,the Governing Board of Chico City School District Butte has certified,as required by law,to the board of supervisors of County, State of California, whose superintendent of schools has jurisdiction over said school district,all proceedings had in the premises with reference to the matters hereinafter recited,and said certified proceedings show,and after a full examination and investigation said board of supervisors does hereby find and declare: That on the 15th day of August ,19 6i said governing board deemed it advisable,and by its resolution and order duly and regularly passed and adopted,and entered on its minutes,on said day,did resolve and order,that an election be called and held on the 22day of October ,19 6d in said district,to submit thereat to the electors of said dis- trict the question whether bonds of said district shall be issued and sold in the amount of$1,900,000.00 to bear interest at a rate not exceeding five per cent per annum payable annually for the first year the bonds have to run and semi-annually thereafter, for the purpose of raising money for the following purposes:1 (a) The purchasing of school lots. (b) The building or purchasing of school buildings. (c) The making of alterations or additions to the school building or buildings other than such as may be necessary for current maintenance,operation,or repairs. (d) The repairing,restoring or rebuilding of any school building damaged, injured, or destroyed by fire or other public calamity. (e) The supplying of school buildings and grounds with furniture,equipment or necessary apparatus of a permanent nature. CO The permanent improvement of the school grounds. SPECIAL Noss: Education Code Section 21809 provides that the bonds shall be signed by the chairman of the board of supervisors,"or by such other member thereof as the board of supervisors shall by resolution adopted by a foue.fifths vote of ail its members,authorize and designate for that purpose". If it is desired to have the bonds signed by such member rather than the chairman,then the Resolution and Order,and the bond form, should be changed accordingly,and the Resolution and Order must be adopted by such four•fiftbs vote.
