RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING BTUDY FOR FORMATION
OF STATEwI~1IDE WATER AGENCY
WHEREAS, it has long been recognized that water is the mos
essential resource of the State of California; and
~TEi:t;REAS, agriculture is the largest user of water within
the State; and
WF-IEREAS, additional water is necessary for industrial
development and existing State policy in water development is
orientated toward meeting the domestic and municipal needs crea
through its population growth; and
WHEREAS, it is realized that water needs must be met to
satisfy all areas of growth; and
W13EREAS, political involvements need to be divorced from
water development policies, in order that impartial decisions
might be made; and
WHE'J.2EAS, the California Farm Bureau Federation is considP
ering a study to be launched to determined the desirability of
forming an agency, whose membership would consist of represent-
atives from each sub-area of the State, and whose function would
be that of formulating State-wide water policy,
NON, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE B0~'~D OF SUPERVIS-
ORS OF THE COUNTY' OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, that a study be
launched to determine the advisability of forming a State ?r7ater
Board of Directors, or other agency, whose membership would
consist of representatives from each subarea of the State of
California, and whose function would be that of formulating
impartial State-wide water policy,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board endorses the
Resolution of the Butte County Farm Bureau of .3une 4, 1964,
recommending that such a study be made.
