BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, 'STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION CONFIRMING EXISTENCE OF A DISASTER
TaHEREAS, 'Section 8-6 of the Butte County Code provides for
the proclamation of the existence of a disaster when the Board
_;
of Supervisors is not in session; and
W~%EREAS, such a proclamation of the existence of a disaster
was made at 10:00 o'clock AoMo on the 24th day of December,
1964, by the County Administrative Officer, pursuant to said
sections of the Butte County Cade, and confirmed to the Governor
of the .state of California, at 11:45 o'clock AeMa of said day,
by telegram from the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California; and
Wi-IEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors was not in
session at the time of such proclamation, and this is the earli-
est practical time since said proclamation for the declaration
of a disaster area; and
WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of
persons and property arose within this County, caused by flood anc
storm, on or about 9:00 o'clock A,Mo on the 24th day of December,
1964; and
WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors does hereby find that
the aforesaid conditions of extreme peril would warrant and
necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a disaster,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED by the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte that the proclamation
of the existence of a disaster, as issued by the County Admini~
strative Officer, is hereby confirmed by the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Buttes
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that said disaster

shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is
proclaimed by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of Californian

County of Butte, State of California, this 29th day of December
19 64, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Giles, Pryde, Steinegger and Chairman McKillop
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Alldredge

PROGLAMATiON OF EXISTENCE OF DIS.~TER
WHEREAS pursuant to the County Code of Butte County,
Section 8.6, the administrative officer, at the request of the
Airector of Civil Defense, has the authority to proclaim a public
calamity and disaster area; and
WHEREAS, such conditions exist as of this hour,
NOW, THEREFORE, I, THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER OF THE COUNTY
OF BUTTE, do, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A.Mo on this 24th day
of Decembers 19642 proclaim the County of Butte a disaster area.
