COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF JOHN NELSON BILLS
~7HERF,AS, JOHN NELSON BILLS died in Paradise, Butte County,
California, on the 23rd day of January, 1965; and
~iiEREAS, JOHN NLLBON BILLS was, during 'his lifetime, a
Supervisor of the County of Butte, having been first elected in
a recall election, and for a full term in 1948, and having served
as Chairman of said Board of Supervisors in the year 1952; and
3~3ERE?,S, in addition to said official public service to
the county and to the state, JOHN NELSON BILLS actively parti-
cipated, during his lifetime, in the affairs of his country and
his community, having been one of the organizors of the Paradise
Irrigation District in 1916, having served on the County Board of
Appraisers, having served as County Deputy Assessor for the
Paradise, Magalia and Stirling City area for over twenty years,
and having been instrumental in getting the Paradise Skyway
constructed,
N03~i, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, as follows:
1. That said Board hereby expresses its appreciation for
the outstanding services rendered by JOHN NELSON BILLS to the
County of Butte as a member and chairman of said Board, and for
his leadership in the County of Butte and the community in which
he lived, both as a Supervisor and as a citizen.
2. That the condolences of this Board be extended to the
~~members of the family of JOHN NELSON BILLS, and that the Clerk of
this Board forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Josephi
Graham Bille, his surviving spouse, to George Bille and Henry
Bille, his surviving sons, to Bernice Abshier, Durham, ,
California, Martha Duncan, Chico, California, and Lois Lloyd,
Oroville, California, his surviving daughters.

1 3. That the regular meeting of this Board, held on this
2 2nd day of February, 1965, be adjourned in memory of JOHN NELSON
~3 BILLE.
4 PASBED AND ADOPTED by the BOARD OF ~[JPERVISORS of the
5 County of Butte, State of California, this 2nd day of February,
6 1965, by the following vote:
