BOARD OF SUPERVTSORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, ;STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLICY ON DISCHARGE OF :SE'Y~IAGE
TO LAKE OROVILLE
"WHEREAS, the construction of the facilities which will
result in the creation of Lake Oroville are substantially under
way; and
WHEREAS, on completion of said facilities there will be
created a substantial lake; and
WHEREAS, said waters will be used for both domestic and
recreational use; and
WHEREAS, the use of the lake as well as the tributary
streams within the watershed could be subject to pollution; and
WHEREAS, control of sanitation is necessary for the best
interests of the citizens of Butte County,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte that it be the policy of said board to
prohibit the direct discharge of sewage, or sewage effluent, to
Lake Oroville, or to the streams on the watershed thereof,
located in Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, this 1st day of June,
1965, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Giles, Howsden, Maxon, McKillop and Chairman Pryde
