BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTES STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CITY OF CHTCO~S APPLIC.a.TION
TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION FOR PERMIT
AUTHORIZING A GRADE CROSSING OF RAILROAD R~GkIT-OF-'WAY
~3EREAS, the City of Chico proposes to make application to
the Public Utilities Commission for a permit to establish a grade
crossing across the railroad right-of -way at the easterly
terminus of Rio Lindo Avenue and owned by the City of Chico; and
'WHEREASz said area is immediately adjacent to property
lying in Butte County outside the incorporated limits of the City
of Chico; and
"NhiEREASt the Board of Supervisors of the County pf Butte
are famil~.ar with said crossing; and
1~4EiEREAS,~, the heavy concentration of traffics resulting
from recut development of property in the area:, and the antici-
pated increased concentration of traffic that will result from.
future development of adjacent property,r will aggrevate the
police and fire problem which can only be alleviated by con-
struction of said grade crossingx
NOWT THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTES that they find that the public eonvenienc
necessity, welfare and safety require the establishment of a
grade crossing across the railroad right-of-way at the easterly
terminus of Rio Lindo Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RLSOLVED,~ that said grade crossing shall be
constructed ori.thout cost to the county,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Butte support.
the City of Chico in their application to the Public Utilities
Commission of the State of California for a permit to establish
a grade crossing pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 6 of
Division 1„ Part 1 of the Public Utilities Code, and this Board
endorses such application.
BE I T FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
1 certified and delivered to the City Council of the City of Chico,,
2 and a certified copy be forwarded to Public Utilities Commission
3' of the state of California,
4 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the BOA12D OF SUPERVISORS of the
5 County of Butte.,, State of California,,, on this lath day of
6 September, 1965 by the following vote:
