BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO, (~ S ~ AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THROUGH HIGHWAYS I.N THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA (Vehicle Code Sections 82, 5 and 471) WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the Department of Public Works of the County pf Butte that certain County Highways within said County be established as through highways within the meaning of Section 82.5 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, as being a highway or portion thereof at the entrance to which vehicular traffic from intersecting highways is re-~ quired by law to stop before entering or crossing the same and when stop signs are erected as provided in said Code; and WHEREAS, all of the hereinafter named highways and intersections are within the exclusive jurisdiction of the County of Butte; NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DO OIi,~AIN AS FOLLOWS: 1. That by authority vested in said Board by the Vehicle Code of the State of California, and in particular Sections 82. 5 and 471 of said Cpde, the hereinafter named and designated County highways are designated as through highways, at the entrance to which or at the specified intersections herein set forth, vehicular traffic from intersecting highways is required to stop before entering or crossing said highways or intersections when:.stop signs are erected as provided by law, .said highways and intersections being designated as follows, to wit:. 1, Richvale East Road from the easteriy line of Richvale South Road to the westerly line of U: S, Highway 99E, 2, Midway from the northerly line of Richvale East Road to the southerly line pf U. S. Highway 99E. . 3. Chico-Butte City Highway from the Chico City limit southerly to the Glenn County line.. 4. Oroville-Chico Highway from the. easterly'liri~ of Midway to the northerly line of Durham Highway, 5. Gridley~Colusa Highway from the Gridley City limit westerly to Butte Creek. 6. Oroville-Bangor Highway from the easterly line of Burlington Avenue to the westerly line of Lower Wyandotte Road. 14. Skyway, Paradise, from the westerly line of Russell Drive to the southerly line of the Bu11 Hi11 Road, 15. Clark Road, Paradise, from the southerly line of Buschmann Road to the easterly line of Skyway. 16. Oroville-Pentz-Magalia Highway from the northerly line of State Highway 40A to the easterly line of Skyway. 17. West Sacramento Avenue, Chico, from the westerly line of State Highway 32 to the easterly line of River Road. 18. West Eighth Avenue, Chico, from the westerly line of West Esplanade Drive to the easterly line of State Highway 32, 19. Renshaw Avenue, Chico, from the westerly line of U. S. Highway 99E to the easterly line of Nord Avenue. 20. East Lassen Avenue, Chico, from the easterly line of U. S. High 99E to the westerly line of Cohassett Road, 21_ East Avenue, Chico, from the easterly line of U. S. Highway 99E to the westerly line of Cohassett Road and from the easterly line of Cohassett Road to the westerly line of Cactus Avenue. 22. Manzanita Avenue, Chico, from the westerly line of Moreland Drive to the easterly line of Cactus Avenue. 23. Fair Street, Chico, from the northerly line of U, S. Highway 99E to the westerly line of Mulberry Street. 24. Vallambrosa Avenue, Chico, from the Chico City limit to the west- erly line of Manzanita Avenue. 25. West Biggs-Gridley Road from the Biggs City limit to the Gridley City limit. 26. Goodspeed Watt Road from the southerly line of the Dayton Durham Highway to the northerly line of State Route 45. 27. Tehama Avenue, Thermalito, at its. intersection with Tenth Street. 21 43. Seventh Street, Thermalito, at its intersection with Yuba Avenue. ~22 44. Wyandotte Avenue, Oroville, at its intersection with Central Drive. 23 45. Olive Highway, Oroville, at its intersection with Central Drive. 24 46. Big Bend Road at its intersection with Pulga Road. 25 47, West Liberty Road at its intersection with Lasser Avenue and 26 Lewis- Oak Road, 27 48, Randolph Road, Gridley, at its intersection with Locust Street. 28 49, White Avenue, Chico, at its intersection with. Irene Avenue. 29 50. Manzanita Avenue, Chico, at its intersection with. the westerly portion of Cohassett Road. 30 51« Cohassett Road, Chico, at its intersection with. the easterly portion 31 of Manzanita Avenue. 32 2« All persons are required to obey traffic signals erected in accordance ~3- l 1 with this Ordinance and failure to obey such signals. shall constitute a misde- 2 meanor, all in accordance with the laws and statutes for the State of California 3 and in particular in accordance with. Sectioris475 and 760 of the Vehicle Code 4 of the State of California. 5 3. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances or Resolution in conflict 6 herewith are hereby repealed. 7 4. The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms of this 8 Ordinance are hereby declared independent and severerable, and the invalidity 9 if any, of any feature, part, provision,. section or term, thereof, shall not 10 affect the remainder of this Ordinance, nor render the same inoperative or 11 invalid. 12 5. This Ordinance shall be, and is hereby declared to be in full force 13 and effect from and after sixty X60) days after the date of its passage and be- 14 fore the expiration of fifteen (l5) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall '15 be published once, with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors 1S voting for and against it in the BIGGS NEWS a 17 newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California, '18 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the BOARD OF SUPERVISORS of the August 19 COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA; this 3rd day of J~1~, X20 I959, by the following vote: 27.
